Huaqiao University(HU) held the fifth Macau Post-graduate Degree-awarding Ceremony　and celebrated the ninth anniversary of the Macau Special Administrative Region and the inauguration of the 10th member of the General Assembly, the Council and the Supervisory Committee of the HU Macau Alumni Association on Nov 7, 2008.　　

There are 14 postgraduates and one doctoral graduate this year, who are from major of Business, Law and Management. Among them, Miss Lin Huilian is the first master graduate of Macau HU in the year 2000 to obtain a postgraduate, who is currently the deputy general manager of the Information Technology Division in Bank of China Macao Branch. The ceremony was presided together by Assistant of Deputy Minister of the Liaison Office of Culture and Education Ministry Xu Ting, Director of the Office of Higher Education Chen Bohui, Honorary Presidents of HU Alumni Association Tang Zhijian, Leong Vai Tac, Zhuang Shan Yu and Chan Meng Kam, Supervisor of Amateur Learning Center Li Pui Lam, Honorary President of the School of Business of HU Wu Jiapei, and Principal of HQ Wu Chengye and so on.

As President of HU, Sir Chan Meng Kam has always been concerned about the education cause of HQ and providing great support to its development. In 1999, he donated an amount of money to establish Sir Chan Meng Kam’ Scholarship Fund which is exclusively for excellent students from Macau. In 2002, he contributed 2,000,000 Hong Kong dollars to build the student apartment. In November 2005, which was the 45^th anniversary of HU, along with 4 other Macau celebrities, he donated 500,000 RMB to set up the HU Scholarship Fund.
